Dreamland Confectionery
Developing a Game that Portrays Personal Growth Through Fantasy and Baking
On Dreamland Confectionery, I created the main story arc of the game and provided narrative insight to the art team on worldbuilding and character designs, working in a team of about 20 developers. Our experience goal with the game was to evoke a sense of childlike wonder in the player as they baked magical desserts and befriended fantastical creatures and characters. The story arc was about the player character Ami preparing to leave her childhood fantasy world and her passions for baking behind as she grew into an adult. However, her fears about growing up cause her fantasy world and its inhabitants to be consumed by doubt, so Ami must save her world using her creativity and baking while learning that growing up doesn't mean she has to let go of her imagination and passions for baking.
